October 6, 2007 - Ron will be presenting HSSV and their Board of Directors with a limited edition of Zeke at the ground breaking ceremony for their new facility. Zeke will become the mascot for HSSV's capital campaign to build and maintain a new shelter for animals in need in the bay area.
October 27, 2007 - Burns' Authorized Gallery in Los Gatos, CA will be hosting an exhibition, "Through Burns Eyes" of Ron's latest works. Ron will be at the gallery to meet and greet the public. A portion of the purchase price from each Burns piece sold will benefit the HSSV.
Who is Zeke?

Zeke had generalized demodex and a severe skin infection. He wasn't contagious but was very sore and required extensive, expensive medical treatment. When he first came in as a stray, he was almost dead, was almost completely bald and couldn't even lift his head. His feet were huge with infection. He had to be carried everywhere, but when you'd speak to him; he still managed to wag his tail (thump, thump).
One of the things that HSSV does that makes us stand out is that we invest medically in those lives that perhaps in other shelters would be euthanized as a lost case. Although it was a long road, HSSV staff and volunteers never gave up on Zeke and today, he is a healthy, boisterous, furry 1 year old golden retriever who lives with a loving family.
